Den är resultatet av en korsning mellan europeisk vinranka (<em>Vitis vinifera</em>) och den extremt härdiga östasiatiska arten <em>Vitis amurensis</em>. Sorten togs fram i Tjeckien på 1960-talet och har blivit populär för vinodling i kallare klimat, inte minst i Danmark, Tyskland och Sverige. Druvorna är små till medelstora, blåvioletta och mognar tidigt – ofta redan i augusti–september i södra Sverige. De har en söt och aromatisk smak, perfekt för både färskkonsumtion och framställning av kraftiga röda viner med djup färg och fruktig karaktär. Skalen är tunna och druvan har hög färgintensitet, vilket gör den särskilt uppskattad av vinmakare.</p> <h4>Odling</h4> <p>'Rondo' är en av de mest härdiga sorterna som klarar ner till ca -25°C. Den trivs bäst i soligt och skyddat läge med väldränerad, gärna kalkrik jord. Rankorna växer kraftigt och behöver stöd i form av spaljé eller pergola. Beskärs på vårvintern enligt traditionell spaljé- eller guyotmetod för att främja fruktsättning. För bästa skörd bör man gallra klasarna lätt under sommaren. Motståndskraftig mot många vanliga sjukdomar. Arten är döpt efter den flod som rinner genom Sibirien och Manchuriet. Vintrarna i denna region är betydligt mycket kalla än de vi upplever här. Amurvinet uppges klara temperaturer under -40ºC. <meta charset="utf-8">Amurvin är självfertil.</p> <p>Får små, mörka druvor med frisk smak. <meta charset="utf-8">Druvorna används till vin och saft. Sorten 'Alba' har rent vita blomspiror och silvergrått bladverk, och används precis som den blå lavendeln för doft, mat och medicin.</p> <p>Blommorna kan torkas och användas i teblandningar, bakning eller som dekoration i exempelvis lavendelsocker. The fruits are also smaller with white roselle, but the total yield is higher than from regular red roselle.</p> <p data-mce-fragment="1">The fruits and leaves are used in the same way as fruit and leaves from ordinary roselle - however, the juice becomes transparent / amber colored instead of the deep red color of ordinary roselle.</p> <p data-mce-fragment="1"><em>Hibiscus sabdariffa</em> originated in Africa and spread from there to Asia and the Caribbean.</p> <p data-mce-fragment="1">Most popularly used to make juice (Agua de Jamaica) from the fresh sepals, but you can also let them dry to make hibiscus tea.<span data-mce-fragment="1"> </span><meta charset="utf-8">Dried sepals are also used as a flavoring agent for Gin.
