Beneficial insects against light thrips, delivered in 10 small bags.

Orders placed by Sunday evening will be shipped the following Tuesday.

Ten small bags of thrips predatory mites, Amblyseius cucumeris, which is used as a preventative against thrips or in the event of an incipient infestation.

To get a good effect, it is good to hang the bags up early (in greenhouses often June/July) before the thrips infestation becomes too large. It is also important that the environment around the plants is not too dry. Try to maintain a high humidity, especially at the beginning of the growing season when the plants are small.

If the mites cannot find thrips, they can also survive on other mites and pollen, for example.

Thrip predatory mites are effective against light-colored thrips, but work less well against dark, tropical thrips species that are often seen in tropical houseplants.

Note that thrips predatory mites primarily feed on thrips larvae, so adults are not affected. If you have an established thrips infestation, it is better to use orius beetles. Once the infestation is under control, it is beneficial to hang bags of thrips predatory mites to prevent the infestation from returning.

Thrips predatory mites can also be used against dwarf and top shoot mites.

Instructions for use

The bags are hung on the plants, on side branches or leaf stalks. Over the next 4-6 weeks, thrip predatory mites will emerge from the bag and climb over the plant daily to search for thrips.

Please note that the bag already has pre-made holes, so it does not need to be opened further.

Avoid the bag coming into contact with the soil and hang it out of direct sunlight.

The predatory mites should be released immediately after receipt, but can be stored for a couple of days at 8-10 degrees.

It is commonly used in biological control on citrus trees and ornamental plants. The adult ladybug is about 4 mm long and the larva is slightly larger. The larva is very similar to the mealybug larva. The brown-black adult ladybug lays its eggs between the mealybugs, and they hatch after about 8 days.

Woolly ladybugs thrive best at temperatures of about 20 degrees or more, and at a relative humidity of about 60% or higher. At temperatures below 20 degrees, golden-eyed dragonfly larvae ( Chrysoperla ) are recommended instead, to control woolly aphids.

If the plant is treated with chemicals, this can harm the ladybugs.

User manual

Open the jar near the infested plant and place the jar next to the plant. It is best to carefully remove the paper strips from the jar and place them on the leaves near the mealybugs. It is also possible to use a paintbrush and carefully brush the ladybugs off the leaves.

The adult ladybugs can fly. They will be somewhat confused after release and want to fly away. To prevent this, you can release them in the dark, which makes them calmer and less likely to fly. If you want to further ensure that they stay on the plant, you can wrap the plant in a fine net or similar.

Storage

Put the ladybugs out the same day they arrive. If that is not possible, store at 15-20 degrees in the dark for a maximum of two days.

Supplied in packs of 25 or 100.

It ripens late in the year, which is why it is also called Winter melon.

A waxy coating forms on the fruit when ripe; before that, it is covered with fine hairs. They can easily leave the harvested fruits outside for a whole year without losing their durability.

The flesh is white and crisp with a slightly sweet taste. Wax gourd is eaten as a vegetable like pumpkin and squash: often in stews, soups, and purees. The fruit is sought after in stews because it does not easily break down when cooked. The fruit can also be eaten raw.

Other uses include candying the fruit and making a kind of sweet tea from it. Both younger and older fruits can be consumed.

The plant’s shoots, tendrils, and leaves can also be eaten as vegetables: a tasty way is to stir-fry leaves and shoots in oyster sauce and soy sauce with a little garlic.

Seeds can be roasted and eaten.

The fruits can grow up to 1.2 meters and weigh from 2 to 50 kg. This gives the film its superior strength and properties that surpass ordinary greenhouse films.

MadeNear EVA 200my T, aD, UV

200my thick

IR reflecting (thermal)

Anti-condensation on the inside

5-year UV warranty

Insulating properties of GjordNära EVA 5 (T)

At night, heat loss via infrared radiation is prevented thanks to the advanced copolymers in the film. This results in higher temperatures at night and less risk of frost, giving you bigger harvests and a longer season.

Anti-condensation (aD)

Condensation inside a greenhouse not only significantly lowers the temperature, it can also damage the plants. On GjordNära EVA 5, the inner layer is anti-condensation treated, and instead of droplets, a uniform layer of water forms on the inside, which then runs off along the film. Fewer droplets also means more light!

Unmatched strength and durability (EVA)

Thanks to being made of three layers, GjordNära EVA 5 has unique properties regarding toughness, strength, and durability. Its stretchability guarantees a neat result when the film is stretched over your tunnel greenhouse or homemade greenhouse.

Longer lifespan! - 5 years (UV)

GjordNära EVA 5 is UV resistant for at least 5 years. This strong UV protection means your film will stay fresh longer. The 5-year warranty covers UV wear. However, we do not guarantee against mechanical wear/abrasion. We recommend careful taping of all construction parts that touch the film to avoid chafing.

Better transparency

The flat smooth surface keeps the film clean. A clean film lets through more light. The light is refracted and diffused, and this better distribution reduces the risk of burns on the plants in the greenhouse.

Measure and calculate consumption

If you want to replace greenhouse plastic on a frame, you need to know how much is needed.

The width of the plastic is the hoop length + 100cm.

Length = greenhouse length + 50cm

You also need plastic for the gables.
