'Borealis' is a Canadian variety developed for its large berries and fine balance between sweetness and acidity. The berries are elongated and blue-frosted, with a taste reminiscent of blueberry and blackcurrant. Eaten fresh or used for jam, juice, jelly, and baking. Blueberry honeysuckle has been cultivated in Russia, Japan, and Canada as one of the earliest fruit-bearing berry shrubs in spring.Cultivation
